‘I studied science and business management at university. But after graduating, I knew I didn’t want to pursue a career in science. So, what did I really want to do? Well, because its focus on sustainability really appealed to me, I chose to work for Eneco eMobility. I’m deeply concerned about the environment: I’m a vegetarian and I buy sustainable products whenever possible. Due to my previous customer service experience at Bol.com, I was offered a position in the customer care department in 2020.  

“As soon as I started, I was pleasantly surprised. I thought the work would involve lots of calling and emailing, but nothing could have been further from the truth! Colleagues fondly refer to customer care as Eneco eMobility’s talent incubator. It certainly turned out that way for me. I was pretty much free to develop my own initiatives, and with a colleague, I set up the customer care quotation team. 

“Because of my interest in IT, although still in customer care, I began working with the IT department after 18 months. As a key user, I was able to contribute to improving the IT system for customer care. My thesis at university was about the role of IT in general medical practice, and things turned out to be a perfect fit. So, after six months, I started working purely for the IT department, which offered me a fast-track traineeship to discover where my strengths lie.  

“And I discovered my ideal role! As a business analyst in the Change Management Team, I now act as a link between the IT department and my colleagues in the workplace. I’m the ultimate problem solver! What are their needs in terms of them being able to use our systems effectively? And by meeting these needs, how can the wider organisation benefit? I really enjoy helping Eneco eMobility develop as a company this way’
