“A few years ago, I made a radical career change. After working at Douglas for 18 years, including in a managerial role, I wanted to do something different. A temping agency drew my attention to a vacancy at Eneco eMobility. Given my background in customer care, the agency felt this role would be perfect for me.  

“In 2021, I started as a client expert for our ANWB customers and instantly noticed that I was also good at interacting with clients on the phone. My colleagues sometimes wondered if I was chatting to a family member because my client conversations were always so much fun. When our ANWB customer care was outsourced to an external company, I was asked to train the new team in Utrecht. This role was right up my street. On 1 August 2022, I officially became the trainer for customer care. 

“As a customer care development trainer, I guide new employees through their onboarding programme. In the first week, they receive training from me, followed in week two by online courses and guidance from their own colleagues. In week three, they start working independently. Throughout the process and beyond, they can reach out to me for support. It’s great to see how new colleagues grow and become increasingly confident in those first few weeks.  

“I’m totally in the right place here. Getting the best out of people really energises me, and I very much enjoy going to work. In fact, I have just signed a permanent contract.”
